Solutions Architect - Georgetown Technology Solutions
FOSS Evangelist, Anti-Capitalist, Anarcho Syndicalist
June 2017 - Present
Running an explicitly anti-capitalistic solutions architect firm based on the anarchistic ideals of solidarity, mutual aid, and direct action. These values are reflected most crucially in the principles of mutual respect between me and my clients. Success is measured in how many friendships are made rather than how much capital is gained.
- Successfully established a reputable anti-capitalist business that is able to feed and sustain myself in the near term. Capitalist tokens may be lacking, but guarantees of food and shelter were secured in exchange for labour and cameraderie.
- Advocacy of free and open source software via the classes:
- Introduction to the Raspberry Pi
- Linux Projects
- Learning Python with Minecraft on the Raspberry Pi
- Advocacy of learning-centric education rather than a teacher-centric model. Anarchistic principles in use to encourage mutual learning and respect in class rather than hierarchical relationships of power.
- Using the Penang Science Cluster as a base for classes and meet-ups has resulted in a growing group of Linux users and hobbyists whom may not be otherwise using Linux.
- Able to provide techological services to underprivileged peoples and groups who are usually unable to access these services.
- Deployment of an Intranet for the Penang Science Cluster using Open Mesh routers and a Mikrotik Routerboard.
- Deployment of Raspberry Pi video loopers with programmed shutdown sequences for the Penang Science Cluster.
- Deployment of the Canvas Learning Management System for the Penang Science Cluster-led astronomy group.
- Installation of light-weight Bodhi Linux in netbooks for schools.
- Deployment of virtual reality sets (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, Oculus Quest, and Oculus Go) for the Penang Science Cluster.
- Deployment of machine-learning based Go playing program at the Penang Science Cluster.
- Deployment of Mattermost chat collaboration platform for Businesswise Consulting
- Deployment of Opigno LMS for Businesswise Consulting.
- Installation of various Linux distros for individuals according to need and hardware capability.
- Rapid prototyping and testing of free and open source solutions.
